One World Wallet
August 8th, 2008One World Wallet is a new movement featuring wallets made from duct-tape. The wallets can be considered as artwork by some and as wallets by others. We can guarantee you no body else you know will have one of these in New York, which is the main reason we want one. You can sign-up for One World Wallet here, and purchase them for €45, or around $70-75 (but don’t quote us on our own conversion rate). Pretty cool stuff.
Nike Streetwear SoHo Store Opening On…
August 8th, 2008Originally, the new Nike SoHo store was set to open today, but on a trip to the neighborhood earlier today, we found out the new opening date, August 22. The store still has the “X” on the top window pane and newspapers on the other windows, so we still don’t know what the store looks like…guess we’ll have to wait til the 22nd.

Starbucks Giving Discounts
August 5th, 2008Starbucks is starting a “$2 after 2 P.M.” deal for customers who order a grande sized iced drink, who purchased a coffee from them earlier the same morning. To break it down: order a coffee in the morning, save your receipt, come back after 2 P.M. and order any iced-grande-sized drink for $2. Question…who gets receipts from Starbucks??? Comment on this post if you think Starbucks is getting a little desperate since their first quarter in the red. [AP]
Can’t Stop Listening To…
August 4th, 2008Marquee Closed…Again
August 3rd, 2008How many times can Marquee close in one month and not stay shut? According to DBTH, Marquee was shut last night, with one bouncer outside telling people to go to Guest House. We think it’s time for Marquee employees to look for new jobs and Steve Lewis to start redesigning the place.
What is “Legalize LA?”
August 3rd, 2008We’re probably not the first to report on this we’re sure, but we know a lot of you guys have probably ran into the “Legalize LA” billboards all over the streets of Manhattan. We actually looked up “Legalize LA,” and found the true meaning behind the posters/billboards. It seems Legalize LA is an effort put forth from the American Apparel team to be pro-immigration. California seems to be the mecca of immigration with Mexico just a few miles south of San Diego, so the ad-campaign has truth behind it when it uses LA (it’s most recognizable city) to promote the cause. You can read about how immigrants help generate revenue for the U.S. with taxes as well as how they are entrepreneurs who create jobs for others, by clicking here. To buy the “Legalize LA” t-shirt from American Apparel, click here.
